The artwork director for In Utero was Robert Fisher, who had intended all of Nirvana's releases on DGC. The majority of the ideas for that artwork for that album and linked singles came from Cobain. Fisher recalled that "[Cobain] would just give me some unfastened odds and ends and say 'Do one thing with it.'"[70] The quilt on the album is a pictur
